The Trinamool Congress got a letter from the parliamentary affairs ministry asking it to nominate a party MP for an overseas tour. Railway Minister and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee took less than a second to decide and nominated singer-turned-politician Kabir Suman.
While Suman is happy to be visiting Greece, Cyprus and Egypt over a 15-day trip, Banerjee is equally happy. She told close aides, “He will be out of this country for half of the month, what else can be better news!” Suman had created quite a stir when, some months ago, he spoke publicly about the corruption in the party.
