Lalu Prasad, who hails from the Hindi heartland, spent a considerable time on Friday to understand the meaning of “Duranto”, used by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee in her Budget speech. Before the press conference at his Tughlak Road residence, Prasad sat with his followers, including two former ministers, and asked, “Aare bhai, yeh duranto kya hai? (what is this duranto). Does it mean very fast or does it signify long distance?” Later, at the press conference, Prasad was still confused. “Does it mean that once a train starts, it will go on and on in one direction and then keep running in another direction? How is it possible?” Prasad wondered.
