Why doesn’t the Congress party tell the DMK just where to get off? It has 206 seats and has the support of more than 300 MPs. So it doesn’t need the DMK’s 18 MPs to support it in the Lok Sabha. Nor does it need the DMK’s four Rajya Sabha seats — Jayalalithaa has seven seats in the Rajya Sabha and is willing to support the UPA.
