Apropos K Venkataraman’s letter “The Murthys at Raisina Hill” (April 28), may I suggest Gopalkrishna Gandhi as another worthy candidate for the post of president of India. Gandhi amply satisfies all the requirements to take charge of the esteemed office since he is highly erudite, well below the age of 70 and has a distinguished and an unimpeachable record as an administrator, a diplomat and a governor. He also happens to be the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, who never sought any position of power in his lifetime. What better way to express the nation’s gratitude than making his meritorious grandson India’s 13th president?
