This refers to Bharat Bhushan's article "Storm signals for Modi" (April 8). The author has mentioned that an estimated "53,000 hectares of land" acquired by the government "a decade ago is still lying unutilised". Further, an audit by the "CAG of land acquired under the SEZ Act of 2005, confirmed that the land acquired for industrial use was diverted to real estate projects". The Modi government's proposals should be viewed with the perspective of a government that is trying to bring the economy out of the morass created by the previous government. What more could you expect of a leader when he says in Parliament and outside that he is willing to incorporate suggestions by the Opposition in the land Bill and give the credit for passing the Bill to them.
