This refers to ‘Land acquisition in full swing in Bengal’ (June 22). The Budhadeb government has finally swung into action to help ensure industrial investment takes place in West Bengal. It is, of course, a little late since the prestigious Nano has already been pushed out of the state by Mamta Banerjee’s regressive party.
The main concern, however, is about how long this opposition to industrial projects will last. When will people understand that the new investments are not to eat up their lands and livelihood, but wil generate employment for them?
