The attack on the Pathankot air force base at the start of the year is a meticulously planned conspiracy and a stark reminder to India that terrorists are desperately trying to destablise the country. Their main targets are vital economic and political installations as attacks on these would create insecurity and unrest among citizens.
The Pathankot attack once again exposes Pakistan's doublespeak on terror. India should realise that it is a waste of time and labour to engage Pakistan in talks on terror. So long as it abets terror on its soil, is in a state of denial and is at the mercy of the US for financial aid, it will continue to be a dormant state. It is a failed state that has perhaps gone beyond redemption.
