This refers to Shubhashis Gangopadhyay's article "The real way to end poverty" (May 31). The author has proposed steps such as training and providing health care to the poor; creating direct and indirect employment for them and maintaining the momentum of economic development. The final step is to have transparency in the decision-making process of the government. While the first three steps are totally focused on eradicating poverty, the last step will also solve a lot of other problems that are crippling the government.
If people are allowed to comment on proposed Bills and debate on them, a more workable and positive solution will emerge from each Parliament session.
