This refers to AV Rajwade’s article (“The imminent food crisis”, Dec 28). It was an excellent piece on an issue which needs immediate attention. It is high time that the facts stated in the article acted as a wake-up call for our policymakers. Having been a student of economics, and having had several discussions with my colleagues on the aptness of the Malthusian Theory, I couldn’t agree more with the author’s contention that the food crisis will hit developing countries sooner than the effects of global warming.
