The suggestions in the edit "Mumbai's desire for height" (May 31) will make bad conditions worse. The solution is decongesting Mumbai. The Centre and state can take the lead by shifting Central and Western Railways from Mumbai to a town and providing living accommodation free. The funds can be generated by selling properties in Mumbai at peak prices. The city's crumbling infrastructure can't support the huge demand for water and power.
