This refers to Mihir S Sharma’s piece “Road rages” (Ticker, July 7). Nyayabhoomi split into two organisations in mid-2008: one that is run by Mr B B Sharan for four hours a day from his study room; and the other run by me on a full-time basis from 1,000 sq ft of space with the help of eight employees. While our laser-sharp focus is on autorickshaws, Right to Information and judicial reforms, Mr Sharan claims credit for having taken up virtually every issue under the sun. About 10 public interest litigations that he filed over the years in the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court on issues ranging from judicial reforms to sanitation and now Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) have been dismissed. He appears to be succeeding with the second attempt on BRT because judges and lawyers were themselves affected by BRT.
Let me clarify that we have nothing to do with the actions of Mr Sharan.
Rakesh Agarwal, Secretary, NyayaBhoomi New Delhi
