There is so much noise being made about the racist attacks in Australia. While such acts should certainly be condemned, it would be wrong to label the country as racist. As one who worked at the Training College of the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney for several weeks I can say that the Australians are as friendly as people anywhere else. How can India protest and act so righteous when lumpen elements in one state engage in violence against those from other states on the ground that they take away jobs from the locals? A case of double standards?
