The IPL mystique never seems to end. The last auction of IPL has done better than any other IPL auctions in the past. All of which makes you wonder what the game is all about.
If so much money is being spent on IPL, this would mean those who have bid for IPL teams are hoping to get very large sponsorship deals, and that, in turn, means a very large audience is expected for each match. In which case, this means TV ratings of non-IPL shows have to plummet, but this isn’t happening either. So why are investors running to invest so much in buying teams?
