This refers to the report "Disconnect in the Digital India initiative" (March 7). The report carries a map of India, which shows that Assam's official websites have relevant and up-to-date information. Most of the official websites of Assam's various government departments have very little useful information and are almost always "back to date" rather than up to date. By this yardstick, I am sure other states' websites, too, are equally misleading.
Digital India is a good idea. But this cannot be carried forward by our current bunch of bureaucrats. Digital India has to be implemented by people who know about information dissemination and not by those who swear by the Official Secrets Act.
