Your edit says Gandhiji always worked within the constitutional parameters and his fasts were more a penance. We perhaps forget that in his entire campaign, Gandhiji challenged the right of the British to govern this country and had asked them to quit India. Anna Hazare, on the other hand, is fighting for a cause and is not questioning the constitutional process. His refrain is towards the parliamentarians and not Parliament.
We get to hear of a new scam everyday and when the government of the day does nothing, people do lose patience and confidence with those who run Parliament. Ministers are clearly culpable and I am surprised that you want the people to be soft on them and are even apprehensive of the court questioning their conduct.
