This refers to Arvind Subramanian’s article “Where is the BJP?” (September 27). I wish our political class had the same objectivity as the writer and understood the relevance of the goods and services tax (GST). With elections due in the next 20 months and a high probability of an even weaker Third Front coming to power, GST is as good as over for the next few years. And this for a measure that can raise our GDP growth by one to 1.5 per cent. So much for the “concerns” of our political establishment for the masses.
