The BJP’S objection to using the term ‘Hindu terror’ is really understandable and rational. However, party president Rajnath Singh’s statement that the BJP would back the Hindu activists accused in the Malegaon blasts is totally biased and lacking in acumen and understanding.

Linking terror acts or terrorists to the Hindu or Muslim community will definitely hurt their religious sentiments. Political parties should desist from playing a communal card while dealing with the terror menace. All politicians should endorse the fact that terrorism has no religion and that no religion supports terror acts.

All that the BJP needs to do now is not to interfere in the legal proceedings against accused Hindu activists in the Malegaon blasts case. Whether they are innocent or guilty, let the law take its own course.
