This refers to “Working on sick leave”(January 9). The answer is to disband offices or reduce the need to go to them. Certainly, there is no need for everyone to go to office everyday. Disembodied service delivery should be used where possible. Between 1997 and 2008, I came into town twice a week but my output tripled as I could work longer because I was not tired by the commute. My attitude towards work also changed and became more positive. In the 1980s, the introduction of subscriber trunk dialling (STD) between Kanpur and Lucknow reduced trips between them by half.
