This refers to ‘Orissa recommends 9 companies for iron ore lease grant’ (June 18). It is heartening to see that the government is taking appropriate measures to support investments across different sectors. However, it is equally important for the government, both at the centre and the level of the state, to expedite the legal procedures for land acquisition, for mining rights and so on.
Projects proposed by companies like Posco, Arcelor-Mittal and Tata Steel will generate employment and add to the economic development of the state as well as the country.
