There is more to Labour Day than just observing it every year on May 1. In fact, the grievances of workers in both the organised and unorganised sectors in the country are not being addressed properly.
First and foremost, the workers lack proper platforms and forums to raise their concerns. Hence, there is an urgent need to set up such forums.
The fact that only young and working people can create a young India cannot be denied. A failure to address the workers’ woes will only lead to a loss of workforce — this would be a big blow to the country’s growth. Hence, the government should come forward and join hands with the workers in addressing their work-related issues.
