Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati must learn lessons from other caste leaders like her. Lalu Prasad did no development for the people of his state but kept talking of improving their social status. But even he did not build statues of himself. After 15 years of his rule, the people realised that they did not have electricity and jobs, so they voted for Nitish Kumar. At once, Nitish Kumar started working on development projects and even the devastating Kosi flood did not affect his popularity since people saw the hard work he was putting in. The recent Lok Sabha elections, where he increased his number of seats, shows people are not fools and they want jobs, water, roads, electricity. Jobs for 25,000 workers will not satisfy the millions who are without any work in the state.
