T N Ninan’s speculations in his column “New FM, new taxes?” (Weekend Ruminations, August 12) are reasonable. Due reviews and remissions should be made to plug loopholes in the taxation system to attract investment. Needless to say, the finance minister is expected to lessen the tax burden on the common man.
