This refers to ‘K-G gas dispute creates uproar in Lok Sabha again’, August 4. The government’s shift in stance — from trying to question the MoU between the warring Ambanis to now stating that it has nothing to do with the ‘private dispute’ — suggests that it has not played an impartial role, a charge now being levelled against Murli Deora. The minister’s statement would be welcome if it were to clear the confusion in our minds about what has really been happening in the vital natural gas sector. The government and Deora need to show more transparency in their actions to fend off the charge of bias levelled by the Anil Ambani group.
