The enthusiasm of the Congress party, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the UPA government for normalising relations with Pakistan through cricket diplomacy is really great (“Party wants PM to play ball with Pak,” April 15). Just a day after Lashkar-e-Toiba operative and 26/11 mastermind Tahawwur Hussain Rana disclosed the involvement of the Pakistani government and the ISI in the Mumbai terrorist attacks, India declared a resumption of sports ties with Pakistan.

I feel sorry for the US government. Had the Americans and Osama Bin Laden been cricket lovers, it would have been so easy for the US. All the tensions between the US and Osama Bin Laden would have disappeared merely by Obama and Osama jointly watching cricket matches in one another’s lands — just as our government believes will happen with India and Pakistan.
