This refers to the editorial "Questions of integrity" (May 12). Though the Election Commission (EC) conceded its lapse of not informing Narendra Modi of the situation in Beniyabagh, Varanasi early, disallowing him from campaigning in areas where Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal were permitted and its raid on the BJP office before election day may have been over-reaction on its part. Even so, it is misplaced of the BJP to accuse it of bias. While things happen on a massive scale involving over 600 million voters, minor aberrations do take place. But complaints and criticism must be constructive, not frivolous and the BJP's made too much of Modi being denied permission to hold a rally in Beniyabagh. Had any untoward incident taken place in Varanasi, wouldn't the party have held the EC accountable?
