A large part of Delhi-NCR is facing long and frequent power cuts. Given the big demand-supply mismatch, there does not seem to be any other alternative than to shift our focus to renewable energy resources. As far as Delhi-NCR is concerned, with ample sunlight, solar-power generation offers a good option. Individual homeowners and housing societies can be encouraged to switch over to solar power inverters with adequate capacities (instead of the electricity-based inverters that are used extensively in Delhi-NCR). In fact, the installation of solar power plants could also be considered with support from government agencies.
