Apropos Devangshu Datta's column "The axioms of dynastic democracy" (Viewpoint, June 15), the author argues that dynastic rule with regular reviews is more likely to deliver good governance than non-dynastic rule. In India, we seem to be currently having the worst of both the worlds, as it were. We have a dynasty member (or is it two of them?) ruling the country; but instead of being subjected to reviews, others are put up as human shields to answer questions.
