While announcing demonetisation Modiji asked for 50 days for normalisation of banking transactions. It seems it will take three to six months as even after more than a month, sufficient cash is not available in the banks and in ATMs. People are not getting cash withdrawal as per the stipulation of Rs 24,000 per week. The manager of a branch decides what amount is to be paid every day. Banking is in doldrums. Perhaps only in India, an honest citizen is made to beg for its own money kept in good faith in banks. Life comes to standstill without cash; across the country, people are facing problems in meeting their genuine expenses — even basic necessities of life are not met adequately. Worse, the rich, the dishonest and the politicians are not suffering at all.

Cashless society is a Western concept which cannot be implemented in India. Already the barter system has come back at a few places. Corruption is not any less today as black money in new currency notes is unearthed in raids by the income tax department and the police almost every day.
