Apropos the Chinese Whisper "Congress' own ghar wapsi" (January 12). The one "wapsi" that started it all and had others of every description coming back in droves, but never came back itself, was black money. Firstly, the Bharatiya Janata Party returned from exile using this powerful banner and in doing so, assiduously collected all it had junked while in opposition; the Aadhaar, the Goods and Services Tax, foreign direct investment in insurance and so on. Saffron goods from the cloakroom were also piled on the bandwagon for old times sake. The triumphant wapsi by the wary pilgrim to his homeland has begun. But the comprehensive capture of the throne at New Delhi is tricky and in the process, quite a few of the historic baggage may not find their wapsi in the ultimate scheme of things.
