The row over the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) has found strong political support from regional parties. Highlighting the demands of the students agitating for the section on English comprehension to be scrapped, Samajwadi Party senior leader Ramgopal Yadav informed his fellow parliamentarians about the quality of translations that were to be found in the objective-based paper. Yadav said, "The translation for 'Steel Plant' according to the CSAT question paper is 'lohe ka ped' and that for 'North Pole' is 'Uttari khamba'. If this is the standard of the translations then it is better that this question paper should be done away (with), because it will only end up confusing students and robbing them of time to attempt the other questions."
