At the elaborate Japanese tea ceremony involving matcha or powdered green tea, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have spotted some similarities with the famous chai pe charcha or discussions over tea that he introduced during his Lok Sabha election campaign. But Prime Minister Shinzo Abe demonstrated the best of this urbane manifestation of traditional Japanese hospitality by reportedly regaling his Indian counterpart with stories involving tea during the visit of his grandfather, former Japanese Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi to India in 1950.
