Neil Armstrong may have taken a small step for a man, but the autograph of the reclusive first man on moon, who died last month, has taken a giant leap in values. According to a global autograph index compiled by a collectibles investing site, the value of the astronaut’s autograph has been the best performing autograph in the past 12 months, up 26 per cent since 2011. According to the proprietor of the site, which does not include autographs of any famous Indians, Armstrong’s signature had always been one of the most valuable on the market owing to his reluctance to sign autographs. His death has, inevitably, upped that value even more.
