At the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting on Thursday, Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP’s) Baliram was initially sitting next to an opposition Member of Parliament (MP). But Congressman Jitendra Singh changed his seat and sat beside the BSP MP. Similarly, Congressman Saifuddin Soz changed his seat to sit beside Samajwadi Party’s (SP’s) Revati Raman Singh. Soon the reasons became clear when Soz and Singh handed over two identical yellow envelopes to the SP and the BSP MPs. Those were letters of protest and a demand to reject the draft PAC report, written in English and Hindi. Baliram even asked his Congress peer, “Do I need to sign on the Hindi or the English letter?” Singh asked him to sign on the English version, which was eventually handed over to Murali Manohar Joshi, chairman, PAC.
