New-look education

Journalists were given a first-hand feel of what the new standards of education would be under Human Resources Minister Kapil Sibal. When journalists furiously took notes while Sibal spoke, he asked them not to write since ‘aapko sab kuch likha likhaya mil jayega’ (you’ll get everything in writing). While talking of how the government would give an interest rate subsidy on education loans, Sibal wisecracked saying it was because the government was ‘interested’ in them. As for why the minister of state was not at his side at his press conference, Sibal said he didn’t need his colleagues to help him face the press.
