No saas, no bahu

His BJP rival Vijay Goel has TV actor Smriti Irani campaigning for him, while his campaign has no glamour quotient. So, Ajay Maken’s campaign managers are sending out SMS’s highlighting his work: “No Saas No Bahu needed to get votes”, a reference to Irani’s role, first as a bahu and then as a saas in the popular serial Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi. The SMS then goes on to speak of Maken’s record in spending his MPLADS funds, his work in getting the capital’s new master plan through, his role in getting the capital’s public transport fleet converted to a CNG-one — given his success, it’s easy to believe he’ll succeed in his next promise, of cleaning the Yamuna.
