The former chief minister of Karnataka and head of the Congress’ media committee, Veerappa Moily, has landed his party in the soup. His public remark that the Congress is not even contemplating the creation of Telengana has upset the state’s party leaders; leaders at the Centre are burning the midnight oil to resolve the issue. The chief minister had to rush to Delhi to hold consultations and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukerjee and Defence Minister AK Antony have been assigned the task of trying to mend things.
