M Venkaiah Naidu, who has a way with words, compared his ministry and its responsibilities with that of his Cabinet colleague Nitin Gadkari, minister for road transport, highways and shipping. Naidu said, “Gadkari has  two responsibilities — one is better than mine and the other is worse than mine.” Waterways, Naidu said, was better because it leads to less carbon emission, but roads were worse because it adds to pollution. To reduce pollution, he advised the use of public transport and said that he uses the Airport Express metro for his commute from the airport into Delhi city. Besides being environment-friendly, taking the metro also gives him time to complete his pending work. “When I take the metro, there is no tension and only attention (to work),” Naidu said.
