The National Knowledge Commission and the Yashpal Committee have recommended an overarching super regulatory body over the UGC and AICTE. What’s interesting is that UGC Chairman Sukhdeo Thorat and Professor Yashpal not only sit on the same floor, they are just two rooms away from one another in the UGC office. Now that wasn’t a very neighbourly thing to do, was it?
