There's a new candidate to head Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah's team for Uttar Pradesh. It's Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha. Shah is deliberating on whom to appoint as the BJP's state president. It has to be someone acceptable to all groups in the state unit of the party. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has supposedly endorsed Sinha's candidature. Sinha was once a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and president of the Banaras Hindu University students' union. He has a good equation with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Dattatreya Hosabale, who is in Lucknow in preparation for Assembly polls in the state.
