Call it a coincidence if you will, but the media were kept away from Home Minister P Chidambaram who visited Chandigarh to review the security situation in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. The minister arrived early in the morning and left the city before noon. Whether it was Chidambaram’s busy schedule that prevented a meeting with the press or the minister’s desire not to take chances, especially in a city that has so many Sikhs, is not clear.
