At an aviation summit in Delhi last week, when a representative from Fraport, GMR Group’s partner at the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), finished addressing the delegates, pat came a question from the audience, “Can you please tell us who forgot the roads for T3?” The person was referring to the massive traffic jams on the roads leading to the new terminal (T3) after domestic carriers shifted to the new terminal two weeks ago. The Fraport representative was obviously embarrassed, but quickly made an important point. Had the roads and power supply been left to the airport developer, instead of other government agencies, it would have ensured they were developed in time.
