Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member and former cricketer Kirti Azad is currently out of favour with his party leadership. This not only means he has little role to play in party matters but also that he isn’t included in extra-curricular activities like exhibition cricket matches that members of Parliament (MP) play. On April 8, an MPs’ XI will play a limited overs match against Mumbai Heroes, a team comprising TV and film stars, at the Dharamsala cricket stadium. Azad, a source said, didn’t find a place despite having played cricket for India, and being part of the Indian World Cup-winning team of 1983, because of rebelling against the BJP leadership.
