The lobbying for coveted positions in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government began even before the Lok Sabha election returned its stunning verdict for the party. BJP spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Prakash Javadekar was reportedly eyeing a position in the Planning Commission, often considered the government's "parking lot" to appease party and coalition members. Javadekar didn't fight the elections, but he did chair a meeting of experts behind closed doors to educate himself on policy matters.
