Development has been the key focus of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign in the run-up to the Assembly elections in Assam and he has harped on the issue at every given opportunity. On Sunday, he addressed a gathering at Kalinagar, 20 km from Silchar, in Assam.
On reaching the campaign venue, Modi found a big crowd waiting for him. Not one to let an opportunity go by, he told his audience: "Today my programme was at 10 am and I was wondering how people will come so early as there are hardly any roads here. But I am happy to see such a large gathering. I assure you that I will return this love of yours with interest by completing development work."
