At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the last person to speak. But he did intervene once to contradict Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot, a seasoned politician, slipped on facts and said futures trading of essential commodities was causing havoc in the food market.
Singh quickly took the microphone and reminded him that no essential commodity was traded in futures commodity markets.
