Mamata Banerjee’s intense fascination with all things Tagore reached a new height when her men recently held a ceremony commemorating the birth of another famous Bengali poet and dramatist Michael Madhusudan Dutt but festooned the venue with photographs of the Chief Minister’s favourite poet. The event was organised by the state information and cultural affairs department and ran for two hours before Tagore’s photos were removed after some people objected.
