Pothole in one

Naming roads and parks after famous and wannabe politicians is a common pastime of administrators in India. Leveraging this, the Youth Congress in Chhattisgarh found a unique way of prodding the somnolent state administration to fix the roads: they named potholes after prominent ministers in the state. Protesters prepared placards bearing the name of a state minister and placed it over each pothole — and Chief Minister Raman Singh was not excluded. Naturally the government declined this dubious honour; the police swung into action and put about two dozen agitators behind bars.
