Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is cautious about what he eats. But he is still struggling to overcome one weakness — sweets. At Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s dinner for Hatoyama, Mukherjee found that rossogollas —that too made from new date palm jiggery — were being served. Mukherjee, who has otherwise stopped eating sweets during engagements at the prime minister’s residence and Cabinet meetings, said with a smile, “But that day, I couldn’t resist.”
