At an event organised by Exim Bank, in which John Lipsky, former deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), was the guest speaker, a lady who identified herself as a "responsible citizen" raised a flurry of questions. When the house was thrown open to questions, she grilled Lipsky on a variety of issues - from why the Afghan Afghani and Indian rupee were at around the same level versus the dollar to how India's representation at the IMF held no real value in decision-making. When Lipsky said that he did not track the Afghan currency's movement versus the dollar, she briefly quietened down. When she started asking questions again, the moderator had no other option but to ignore her. When it was time for the last two questions, she tried her luck again. Needless to say, she was passed over.
