Radio silence for Incheon

Red-tapism of a different kind is in evidence in the current National Democratic Alliance government. Here's one example. The All India Radio (AIR) team meant to cover the Asian Games at Incheon was able reach the destination only a couple of days before the event concluded. As a result, the radio coverage of the Games suffered, even as radio is being seen as a means of communication that reaches far-flung corners of the country from where so many of our medal winners come. The reason for the delay is rather bizarre. The nod from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) came late. The PMO, as was reported earlier, had taken many days to clear the contingent of Asian Games athletes and coaches, after cutting it to size.
